How to Get Virtual Care

Adult residents (ages 18+) of Western North Carolina can see a UNC Health primary care provider for mild symptoms without an appointment through UNC Health Virtual Care Now free of charge for those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Using your camera- and microphone-enabled phone, tablet or computer, you can access convenient, secure and flexible care when you need it. Patients can get in line for Virtual Care Now through My UNC Chart. If you do not have a My UNC Chart account, you can easily get one when you get in line. Virtual services are available 6 AM – 10 PM, 7 days per week.

What is the phone number?

Our building is changing, but our number is not. You can reach us at: 828-580-5000.

I have an emergency. Where do I go?

If you have an emergency, please following the signs on the main drive for EMERGENCY by merging right as you are approaching the hospital. Once you merge right, follow the signs to Emergency Department parking lot at our new patient tower. You will park in the Emergency parking lot and enter through the double doors. Please check in at the Emergency registration desk and our team will be ready to help you.

I am having a baby. Where do I go?

If you're here to have a baby, please use our new tower's Family Center Admissions entrance. You will merge right as you are approaching the hospital. Once you merge right, follow the signs to Emergency Department. You will park in the Emergency parking lot and enter through the double doors for Family Center Admissions. Our staff will assist you in registering and escort you to your room. Once you are admitted, it is advised to move your car to the top parking deck as you will exit through the main entrance.

I am visiting a mother and baby in the Family Center. Where do I park?

If you are visiting someone who has had a baby, park on the visitor parking deck and use the main entrance. Please check in at the information desk and our team will be able to assist you. You will not be able to enter through the emergency room or the family center admissions entrance.

I am visiting someone in the ICU. Where do I park?

Our current ICU is still in the main hospital and will not move until the Spring of 2025. You will still park on the top deck and enter the main entrance. Please check in at the information desk and our team will be able to assist you.

Where do I park?

Medical Office Building (Physician Practices) - You will park on the top level of our parking deck and enter the medical office building to the right of the hospital's main entrance.

Main Entrance – You will follow signs to the main entrance and park on the top level of the parking deck.

Emergency – You will follow signs to emergency by merging right as you are approaching the hospital. Once you merge right, follow the signs to Emergency Department parking at our new patient tower.
