How to Get Virtual Care

Adult residents (ages 18+) of Western North Carolina can see a UNC Health primary care provider for mild symptoms without an appointment through UNC Health Virtual Care Now free of charge for those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Using your camera- and microphone-enabled phone, tablet or computer, you can access convenient, secure and flexible care when you need it. Patients can get in line for Virtual Care Now through My UNC Chart. If you do not have a My UNC Chart account, you can easily get one when you get in line. Virtual services are available 6 AM – 10 PM, 7 days per week.

MSS Request for Pre-Application

UNC Health Blue Ridge uses an online credentialing tool called “Provider Navigator.” This tool will be used for all Medical Staff Applications: Pre-Application, Initial Application and Reappointment Application.

This system allows us to establish a designated “Administrator” for each provider who requests appointment to UNC Health Blue Ridge – one Administrator may have multiple providers assigned to them. The Administrator will have rights to log into the navigator and complete each application on the provider’s behalf. Important: All applications for privileges are considered legal documents and therefore the provider is responsible for the data entered. The provider must perform an in-depth review and sign the application and documents. The designated Administrator cannot sign the application or documents for the Provider.

When you have identified an applicant, email the following information to brmssmb@unchealth.unc.edu.

  1. Provider Full Name & Title
  2. Date of Birth
  3. Social Security Number
  4. NPI Number
  5. NC Medical License Number
  6. Expected start date
  7. Provider Email – email for provider to access Provider Navigator (Note, this should be an email address that is checked most often by the provider.
  8. Administrator Contact – Name, Phone and Email

Once this information is received an email with a link to the Provider Navigator will be sent to both the provider and administrator. It is up to you, as the Administrator, to coordinate the completion of the application with the provider.

Be sure to save your email address (User ID) and password you establish for future use. We will send email notifications regarding missing information and progression in the application process and you will use this login information to access the navigator for each step in the process.
