How to Get Virtual Care

Adult residents (ages 18+) of Western North Carolina can see a UNC Health primary care provider for mild symptoms without an appointment through UNC Health Virtual Care Now free of charge for those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Using your camera- and microphone-enabled phone, tablet or computer, you can access convenient, secure and flexible care when you need it. Patients can get in line for Virtual Care Now through My UNC Chart. If you do not have a My UNC Chart account, you can easily get one when you get in line. Virtual services are available 6 AM – 10 PM, 7 days per week.

Carolina Digestive Care (CDC) is located at 150 August Street, Suite 100, Morganton, NC 28655. We are an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) where Gastroenterological procedures are performed.

Services Include:

  • Colonoscopy is an exam that looks for changes within the large intestines and rectum. During the procedure, the scope, a long flexible tube with a camera is inserted through the rectum. Your provider will look for anything abnormal such as swelling, bleeding, polyps, or cancer. If possible, your provider will remove these abnormalities during the procedure.
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD, is an exam that helps the provider diagnose and treat abnormal changes in the upper digestive tract., such as Peptic ulcer, gastritis, inflammation, and swelling. A small flexible tube with a camera at the end is inserted through the mouth down the throat into the stomach and duodenum

  • If you have questions related to charges for endoscopy services provided at Carolina Digestive Care after your procedure is completed, contact UNC Billing Customer Service Call Center @ (800) 594-8624

If you are unable to pay for services provided at Carolina Digestive Care or services provided by the physician, you can call 984-974-3425 for Financial Counseling or visit our Financial Assistance for more info. Please note, this assistance does not cover pathology or anesthesia services.
